As a strength coach, it is my objective to make strength training as accessible as possible for everyone.

I have worked with a wide variety of clientele, from inexperienced to seasoned, young to old, and recreational to competitive. In particular I have enjoyed coaching LGBTQ clients, clients struggling with persistent pain, and aging clients — all folks who are prone to feeling out of place at the gym. I was also on the founding board of reps for recovery, a Nevada-based non-profit that provides free strength coaching to people in addiction recovery.

I strive to not only teach my clients lifting technique and programming basics, but also evidence-based pain science that will help you navigate aches, pains, and injury throughout your aging journey. My end goal is always to increase my clients’ sense of self-efficacy and confidence, both in and out of the gym.

ABOUT COACH SARAH

Sarah Al-Khayyal (she/they) is a former strength athlete turned recreational lifter with experience coaching powerlifting, Strongman, and strength training for general fitness. Sarah is excited to work with people of all experience levels who are interested in getting stronger, feeling affirmed in their body, and improving their quality of life outside of the gym. Sarah also brings lived experience and coaching experience in managing chronic pain through strength training, and hopes to support spoonie clients and clients recovering from injury with an integrated biopsychosocial approach to coaching.

Strength Coaching Offerings

Individual Training

One-on-one strength coaching, customized to your goals, interests, and abilities. Pay as you go or buy a package of sessions. Sliding scale $45 - $75 per session.

Barbell Technique Class

Small group barbell technique coaching, suitable for both beginner lifters looking to learn and experienced lifters who just want a technique tune up. Pay as you go or buy a package of sessions, flat rate $40 per class.

Strongman Class

Small group strongman coaching, suitable for all experience levels, including beginners with zero strongman experience. Pay as you go or buy a package of sessions. Sliding scale $30 - $50 per session.

Remote Coaching

Remote coaching to suit your goals and interests. Custom programming and/or virtual form checks. Pay by month, sliding scale custom packages $50 - $150.
